Welcome to Applism: Haiku Edition!

This is my website where I put document my computer-related endevours.

About This Computer

The server runs Haiku, an operating system that continues the legacy of BeOS. It is a fully GUI OS, with terminal support, which means the poor HP compaq is going to be suffering slightly more than usual. Luckily, it is very resource efficient, and only uses 10% CPU and 250MiB RAM while not doing anything! Doing most things will bring the CPU to 100% usage. This includes: Using the "yes" command for more than 1 second, opening HaikuDepot, loading websites on WebPositive, scrolling quickly on HaikuDepot and websites (such as my more useful site, applism.tk), having too many ping requests on this website, and many more things(probably).

It seems that Haiku has a hard time managing the fan usage of the computer, or the CPU is getting maxed at 100%, cause it's not a supported CPU. Either way, the fan is on and very loud, and it is decently warm as well. Also, the RAM has fully maxed out at 1G, which could just be because slow computer, or a memory leak. I assume it is only a matter of time before the swap gets fully used and this computer crashes.

UPDATE: Haiku has crashed, leaving the fan at max. Since I don't want the laptop to literally catch fire, I've decided to uninstall Haiku in favour of something more stable, and less resource intensive.
